When I was little, my father taught me and my brother how to make paper bag pumpkins. They were fun and easy to make. We used them as a centerpiece for our dining room table, as decorations for autumn and Halloween, and as simple toys to play with. Read on to learn the three steps to make your own paper bag pumpkin!

What You Need
To make a paper bag pumpkin, you only need a few items:
- brown paper lunch bags
- orange paint
- paper scraps to use as a filler (We used paper from my shredder.)
- any items you'd like to use as embellishments
Step One
Turn the paper bag inside out. This will give the paper bag pumpkin a
rounded and wrinkly shape. Fill the paper bag with as much or as little
filler as you'd like. After that, twist the top of the paper bag tightly
to make a thick stem.
Step Two
Paint your paper bag pumpkin with bright colors. If it's Halloween time,
you can paint a spooky face on it!
Step Three
Embellish and decorate your paper bag pumpkin. We added glitter and a
pretty ribbon to ours. It wasn't Halloween yet, so we just made an
autumn-themed pumpkin. It still looks pretty cute, eh?
